Who are Diabetes UK?
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition.
We have over 300,000 members. We work for people with diabetes, their carers, family and friends. We represent the interests of all people with diabetes by lobbying the government for better standards of care and the best quality of life.
We are one of the largest patient organisations in the UK. We are a unique partnership – of people with diabetes, healthcare professionals, corporate partners and voluntary groups.
Newly Diagnosed If you are newly diagnosed then this is your first stop. There is a whole range of information that will help you adjust to life with Diabetes.
Am I At Risk? If you are concerned about the risks then this page explains the risks and causes of Diabetes and what to do if you are worried.
Youth and Diabetes
There are brilliant sub-sites of Diabetes UK called My life that are aimed towards young people. It is split into three sites.
My Life – Kids is aimed towards primary school aged children which can be found by clicking here. It explains what diabetes is in a friendly manner that children can understand. As well as some fun stuff like games, jokes and facts.
My Life – Teens is aimed towards secondary school aged teens which can be found by clicking here. It has similar information to the children’s website, but written in a more grown up manner whilst still being easy to understand.
My Life – Young Adults is aimed towards young adults of student age which can be found by clicking here. It is much like the main Diabetes UK website, with a younger, trendy twist with links to Facebook and Twitter for example.
