Summer Tea Cruise – Recap

Mike organised a delightful boat trip to Saul Junction along the Gloucester and Sharpness canal.

Group members, family and friends recently enjoyed an afternoon tea cruise on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. The cruise departed from the Gloucester Waterways Museum in Gloucester Docks on their pleasure boat King Arthur, and sailed as far as Saul Junction near Frampton Upon Severn.

Unusually, the weather was perfect, with a typical warm English sunny summer afternoon, allowing all to enjoy the views of the Gloucestershire countryside as we sailed by.

There was a half hour stop at Saul Junction to look around and then back on the boat for a lovely light afternoon tea (with cakes!!) on the return trip. The cruise was a great success, with all aboard enjoying an afternoon of relaxing and watching the world go by, in fact so much so that many asked if we could organise another trip next year… we shall see.
