On 25th September 2013 Mike Broome (Group Chair & Secretary) and Kevin Powell (Committee Member) were invited to attend, by the Community Diabetes Team, a day conference for Practice Nurses, District Nurses, Community Ward Nurses, Assistant Practitioners and HCA’s throughout Gloucestershire. The event was held at The Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham.
The conference was a great success and gave Mike & Kevin a good opportunity to raise the profile of the Group with the many Diabetes Specialists in attendance. We spoke to many Diabetes medical practitioners from across the county, many of whom where, at best, only vaguely aware of the groups existence or what we did.
Hopefully as a result of our efforts they are now much better informed and will be more ready to recommend the group to their patients.
