Diabetes UK’s Gloucester Support Group is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary by taking a look at how their parent charity operates at the regional and national level.
The October meeting, being held on Wednesday 10th at Christ Church in Abbeydale, will feature a visit from Gemma Jackson, who is the Volunteering and Outreach Manager for the South West Region of Diabetes UK.
Gemma will be explaining the work that the charity performs and the services on offer to help people to manage their diabetes well. Also to be covered are the events to be held in the South West, especially #TheBigOne which is intended to bring together young people with Type 1 diabetes in Swindon. Another key campaign is “Know Your Risk” so if you are fighting diabetes and would like to know about these initiatives and fuller details of the support Diabetes UK that can offer, this is a golden opportunity to find out.
After the formal talk and question and answer session there will be the usual chance to simply talk and share knowledge and experience with people sharing the common cause of managing and fighting diabetes.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday October 10th at 7.30 at the group’s regular venue,
Christ Church, Heron Way, Abbeydale, GL4 5EQ.
All are welcome and entry is free.
